Role Overview

SEA-FAJ Consults is recruiting on behalf of our client for a highly detail-oriented and proactive operations and logistic executive to manage end-to-end import and export operations in Lagos, Nigeria. The role involves handling shipment clearance, coordinating logistics and ensuring smooth operational execution in compliance with local regulations. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage import and export documentation, including invoices, packing lists, bill of lading and regulatory paperwork.
  • Coordinate with customs authorities, clearing agents and port officials to ensure timely clearance of shipments.
  • Oversee end-to-end logistics operations, including freight forwarding, transportation and delivery.
  • Liaise with shipping lines, airlines and transport vendors for cost-effective and timely movement of goods.
  • Ensure compliance with Nigerian import/export regulations, duties and tax requirements.
  • Track shipments and provide regular updates to internal stakeholders and clients.
  • Handle warehouse coordination and inventory movement where applicable.
  • Resolve operational issues such as delays, documentation discrepancies, or customs queries.
  • Maintain accurate records of shipments, costs and logistics performance.
  • Negotiate rates with vendors and optimize logistics costs.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, International Business or related field.
  • 3–6 years of experience in import/export operations, logistics, or supply chain management.
  • Strong knowledge of customs clearance procedures in Nigeria (Lagos ports).
  • Experience working with clearing agents and freight forwarders.
  • Familiarity with shipping documentation and international trade regulations.
  • Good negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems (preferred).
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience handling operations at Apapa Port / Tin Can Island Port (Lagos).
  • Knowledge of HS codes, duty structures and compliance norms.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
